How to Use the FIP World Coaches Directory

A searchable list of FIP Academy-certified padel coaches that shows each coach's level, country and city.

By Jonathan West · Updated

The International Padel Federation (FIP) announced on October 28, 2026 that FIP Academy had launched a directory of certified padel coaches. FIP calls it the FIP World Coaches Directory in its news release, and a coach appears only after choosing to publish a profile. A player who wants a certified padel coach can use the directory to narrow the search. FIP's pages do not say whether the directory checks a coach's playing standard before listing.

How to Use the FIP Coaches Directory

A player finds a certified coach by filtering the directory page, then opening the profiles that fit.

  1. Open the directory page in the Coaching section of the FIP Academy site.
  2. To look for a coach by name, type it in the Search coach box. The box searches names only, so a city typed there returns no coaches.
  3. Set Level to All levels, L0, L1, L2 or L3. Level 4 does not appear in this filter.
  4. Set Country. The dropdown includes, among others, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Australia, Germany, Italy, Mexico and South Africa.
  5. Optionally set Gender to all, female or male.
  6. Read the cards. Each one shows the level, name, country code, city of residence and birth year. Select Load more to see the rest. FIP's directory showed 120 coaches found with no filter set on October 28, 2026.
  7. Open a profile for the full entry. FIP's news release says profiles include place of residence, languages spoken, social media links and level.
  8. Contact the coach using the details shown on the profile. FIP says the directory exists to make these professionals easier to contact.
  9. Select Reset filters to start a new search.

The filters include no city or distance search. A search for a coach near home therefore means setting the country filter and reading the city on each card. The count updates when a filter is set, so choosing United States in the Country filter shows how many US coaches are listed.

What the Directory Lists

The directory lists coaches who hold an official FIP Academy certification at any level and have chosen to share their profile. FIP's news release describes the directory as "a dedicated space designed to raise the visibility of its certified coaches and connect their services with people and organisations worldwide."

The directory page says that not appearing in the directory "does not mean you lack an official certification," so a coach missing from the directory may still hold a certification. To be listed, a coach authorizes publication of their details in the "My Profile" section of their FIP Academy account.

FIP's news release says the level shown on a profile is "updated as they progress through their training."

The directory page itself calls the same list the "FIP Global Coach Directory."

The directory page has a reporting route for errors, possible misuse of data, or an unauthorized reference to a person or entity in the directory. The route is an email to FIP Academy, with the address shown on the page, naming the profile and the reason.

The FIP Coach Levels

The Coaching Program has five levels. The FIP Academy FAQ says it is "not possible to access a course without having previously completed the preceding levels."

Level Course Price Format What It Qualifies a Coach For Status
Level 0 FIP Foundation Course 350 euros plus tax Online, in Spanish or English, about 15 hours of workload, no face-to-face attendance Certification as a Coaching Assistant, the first step in the training career FIP Academy recognizes Open for registration
Level 1 FIP Coaching Course 850 euros plus tax Blended, 100 teaching hours, live webinars with tutors, practical assessment face to face with national member federations Authorized coaches for FIP Beyond circuits Coming Soon
Level 2 FIP Professional Coaching Course 1,500 euros plus tax Mostly in person, 200 hours, a FIP Academy team travels to the venue for one week Official competitions of the Cupra FIP Tour and the FIP Promises Tour Coming Soon
Level 3 FIP Elite Coaching Course 2,500 euros plus tax 100 percent face to face, program pending confirmation Top-level international competitions, including the official Premier Padel circuit Coming Soon
Level 4 FIP Master Coaching Course To be determined Entirely in person, limited number of editions per year Holders may later apply to be trainers on official courses, always with FIP's approval Coming Soon

The Coaching page showed Level 0 as the only level open for registration on October 28, 2026.

A Level 0 coach passed an online course of about 15 hours, so the certification shows completed introductory study and no in-person assessment. FIP says each course awards a diploma issued by FIP to people who pass it.

To become a FIP Academy coach, a person starts with Level 0.

What the Directory Can and Cannot Tell You

A listed level shows which FIP Academy course the coach passed. On October 28, 2026, setting Level to L0 returned all 120 coaches and L1 to L3 returned none, so every listed coach held the introductory course's certification at most.

FIP does not list playing standard, lesson prices or teaching record among profile contents. A listing alone therefore does not show whether a coach plays or teaches well.

Pick a coach from the directory, then judge by a first lesson, references and what you want to learn. Useful questions to put to a coach before booking:

  • Can I book one lesson before committing to a block of lessons?
  • Can you put me in touch with players you have taught?

Players who want group lessons or clinics at a club are not the audience for this directory. The directory lists individual coaches with a FIP Academy certificate, so a player who wants a club program can ask the club directly. For clubs near home, see finding a padel court near you. A player new to the sport can start with the getting started in padel guide.

FIP's news release, directory page, Coaching page and FAQ do not state:

  • whether the directory checks playing standard
  • lesson prices
  • whether coaches are insured
  • when Levels 1 to 4 open

Ask each coach about lesson prices and insurance before booking. FIP lists Levels 1 to 4 as Coming Soon on its Coaching page.

A listed level will say more once FIP Academy opens Levels 1 to 4 and the directory shows them. To start, open the FIP World Coaches Directory, set the Country filter and put the two questions above to each coach.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find a certified padel coach?

Open the FIP Academy coaches directory, filter it by level, country and gender or search by name, and open the profiles that match. The directory lists coaches who passed a FIP Academy certification at any level and chose to publish their profile. On October 28, 2026, the directory page showed 120 coaches found.

Is every certified padel coach in the FIP directory?

No. Participation is voluntary, so a coach who holds a certification but does not publish a profile does not appear.

What is a Level 0 FIP coach?

A Level 0 coach passed the FIP Foundation Course, an online course of about 15 hours of workload. The course costs 350 euros plus tax and has no face-to-face attendance. Passing gives the Coaching Assistant certification, which FIP Academy calls the first step in its training career.

Can I search the FIP directory by city?

No. The filters are Level, Country and Gender, and the Search coach box searches names only. A search by city means setting the Country filter and reading the city shown on each card.

Does FIP Academy recognize other coaching qualifications?

Not at present. The FAQ says FIP Academy first needs all levels of its own program developed and available. It says it values prior training "very positively," but equivalences are not available.
